Carrer Path

Hi, I'm almost done with high school and I will soon have to choose an university program. I love mathematics and physics and i chose those as my main subjects in high school. I'm interested in reality, space and mostly time, more precisely how it works, how we can move through it and how reality is perceived by the brain. I don't have the best grades in my classes but l’m not a bad student either (around 3.7 GPA in the US system, in my country it's good but not excellent) mostly because I don't study a lot, I just listen during classes.

I thought about going to university to get a PhD in theoretical physics (general relativity) but the thing is that I know searcher and being a teacher at university doesn't pay the bills (well not enough to live comfortably).

I would like to live in a big city (Toronto, London, Edinburgh, Chongqing, Montreal, Amsterdam, Dublin...) and have a nice apartment with two bedrooms, I would like to have enough money to adopt and take care of one child and two bunnies, also I'm vegan so I know some stuff might be a little more expensive (some medicine, complements, doctor appointements, etc.). I do not know if i will have a partner in my life so I would like to have enough money with a single income. I would also like to live downtown, in a place (close to shops, with public transports, parks, etc.).

So, considering that, I thought about getting a master in engineering instead but last year I took classes on this subject and i hated modelling and building things with my hands (l’m more of a mind than hands person), I also thought about getting a master in neurology but searcher still doesn't pay, so I thought about working on R&D after getting a doctorat or master in physics but programming isn't something I really enjoy (I think it's a little boring and yes I also took classes on that).

I know I'm complicated and that "I have all the time to change my mind" but I would still like advice to guide me and maybe make me see new possibilities. I know I can work in a job then do another then change again but I would like to know where I'm going. I know that working as a searcher is the thing would make me happy. I also know that R&D or engineering might be what brings me money to be stable and live my life fully outside of work.
