How do you accept inequality as a person?
(I'm gonna change the title of the post because the previous title really send the post off the rail. The whole discussion around the race and immigration is not what I intended. )
So, I went through a lot to get here. I studied so much to come here for a master and after doing my master's I had to apply for almost a 1000 job to finally find one that will give me visa sponsorship.
However, at this point that I'm settling down, I can't help myself but to see the inequalities in the pathes. People around me come from a wayyy more comfortable background than me.
One colleague 3 years younger than me, lived with his parents until this year that he inherited an apartment.
My friend has found a position in a big law firm making 6figures in exactly the same age as me.
I burned through my 20s working and studying to get a middle-class life and now I'm living with people who were just handed all these. And not just this. Way more.
And I look at all those high paying rules in our corporate, the whole business manager etc. and all I see is that I can never have those as well. Please don't tell me you can if you work hard. I don't have those business schools degrees or network. I'm don't know the unwritten rules of those elite social circles. I'm also very tired from my 20s and everything that I had to sacrifice to get here.
I just don't know how to accept and make my peace with it. Accepting it feels like I have failed in life.
