A place is for rent, but they would prefer to sell it… what does this mean…
I noticed there was a place posted for rent this week that was previously up for sale in April. I asked my realtor why that would be and she reached out to the agent that stated they had to take it off the market, while they straightened out an issue with the vacant lot next door, but they would prefer to sell it. I asked my realtor how much it would be and she told me the previous listing price; however, it makes me wonder if the issue they were having has not been straightened out yet due to them taking it off the market in April and just now listing it as a rental, despite them preferring to sell it. Is that a fair assumption? Lastly, if they wanted to rent it out for a 12 month term with the intention of eventually selling it, would a proposition to do a rent-to-own be a better option considering the interest rates are super high right now? The price they had it listed would require a larger than preferred downpayment, which is why I was wondering if that would be a better proposal for me personally. I don’t know how rent-to-own works, so please just educate me instead of thinking I am stupid if I have it all wrong lol. Thank you!
