Scam? Twenty Seven Real Estate
| My experience with Twenty Seven Real Estate was extremely disappointing from beginning to end. Based on what I went through, I would strongly encourage anyone—especially international students and interns—to do as much research as possible before signing a lease. The property I moved into looked nothing like the photos that had been advertised. It was poorly maintained, unclean, and clearly not in the condition I had expected. Since many tenants rent from abroad without being able to visit the property first, it's very difficult to know what you're actually getting until you arrive. Whenever maintenance issues or other concerns were reported, responses were often delayed for weeks, and some emails never received any reply at all. Communication was frustrating and inconsistent, making it difficult to resolve even basic problems. The biggest issue, however, came after moving out. Recovering the security deposit has been an exhausting process. Some former housemates have reportedly been waiting for more than four months without receiving their money or a clear explanation. At one point, several tenants requested a meeting to discuss the ongoing issues. Instead of constructive solutions, a lawyer attended on behalf of Twenty Seven Real Estate, and much of the responsibility for the poor condition of the property was placed on the tenants—even though many of us had only lived there for a short time. |
