Regalia Gold Boarding Edge: A Very Disappointing Experience
Recently travelled Delhi to Singapore and back to Delhi on 7th Aug with my family. My wife and I both have HDFC Regalia Gold, and after uploading our boarding passes, we unlocked benefits under the Boarding Edge program.
The benefits look good on paper, but my experience actually trying to use them has been quite disappointing.
- Uber Voucher: Restored, But Practically Useless Now
I used my Boarding Edge Uber voucher for our airport journey on the day of arrival.
The Uber driver accepted the ride but later declined/cancelled it after picking us up. Because of this, the voucher was initially consumed even though the ride itself could not be completed as intended.
I raised the issue with Uber, and to their credit, they restored the voucher to my account.
The problem is that this voucher can only be used for an eligible ride to or from the airport.
I needed the benefit for that particular airport journey. I am not going to the airport again in the coming months, so while the voucher has technically been restored, the benefit is effectively useless to me now.
- Complimentary Spa Vouchers: The Bigger Issue
My wife and I also had 2 separate valid Complimentary Spa vouchers, one each, for Tattva Wellness Spa, Sector 55, Noida, valid from 8th to 13th Aug.
9th Aug: Called Tattva Before Visiting
I called the spa on 9th Aug and clearly mentioned that we had 2 vouchers.
They told me that weekend slots weren't available and appointments are not provided for these vouchers.
I was specifically asked to visit on a weekday as a walk in for the 30 minute sessions mentioned on the vouchers.
Just to avoid any confusion, I separately contacted Tattva customer care and asked them if they could book an appointment for us.
They confirmed the same process.
Appointments are not provided for these vouchers and they would be attended to on a walk in basis.
So I had now received the same information from both the branch and Tattva customer care.
12th Aug: Called Again Before Leaving Home
Before travelling on 12th Aug, I called the Sector 55 branch again in the morning specifically to check availability.
Initially, they told me there were no slots.
I reminded them that I had already called on 9th Aug and had specifically been asked to visit on a weekday.
The receptionist put me on hold, checked again and then asked us to come at 2:30 PM.
Most importantly, I again clearly mentioned that I had 2 vouchers, one for myself and one for my wife. She confirmed that we could come.
Based on that confirmation, my wife and I travelled from Ghaziabad to Noida with our 1 year old baby.
Our plan was simple. One of us would take the 30 minute session while the other looked after the baby, and then we would switch.
Had they told me over the phone that only one voucher could be accommodated, we simply wouldn't have travelled.
We reached the spa and showed both vouchers to the receptionist.
After checking with the manager, we were suddenly informed that only one voucher would be accepted that day.
For the second voucher, we were told to come back the next day.
The spa was practically empty at the time as well.
I explained that I had specifically called before travelling, clearly mentioned both vouchers, and came only after their staff confirmed that we could visit at 2:30 PM.
We had travelled from Ghaziabad with a 1 year old baby. Asking us to make the same trip again the next day was unreasonable.
Instead of acknowledging the communication failure or trying to resolve it, the manager was extremely dismissive.
Her argument was that their T&C doesn't say they have to serve 2 voucher walk ins together.
My question was simple:
If that's the policy, why wasn't I told this when I specifically mentioned 2 vouchers before travelling?
Her response was that she didn't know who I had spoken to.
I had specifically confirmed that I was speaking to the Sector 55 branch before discussing the vouchers and availability.
Their internal communication failure should not become the customer's problem after their own staff have confirmed the visit.
At that point, we decided not to avail either session.
Neither my wife nor I used our voucher, and we left.
What bothered me wasn't simply that they couldn't accommodate us.
I had taken every reasonable step to avoid exactly this situation.
And after all of that, we travelled from Ghaziabad to Noida with a baby only to be told something completely different after reaching there.
Complaint Raised With DreamFolks
I've now raised a formal complaint with DreamFolks regarding the experience.
I've asked them to restore or reissue both unused spa benefits, investigate the contradictory information provided by Tattva, and provide the exact T&C if there is actually a restriction preventing two separately eligible Regalia Gold cardholders from redeeming their individual vouchers during the same visit.
I've also asked for appropriate compensation or goodwill considering the unnecessary travel, wasted time and inconvenience caused after the visit was explicitly confirmed.
The Regalia Gold Boarding Edge program has some genuinely useful benefits on paper, but my experience shows that the actual redemption process can be a completely different story.
Has anyone else faced similar issues with HDFC Regalia Gold Boarding Edge, DreamFolks, Uber or Tattva Wellness Spa?
