SAT Prep Guidance

Hello! I am currently a freshman student moving into sophomore year in a few days.

I just really want a few of my doubts answered, because it is my first time taking the SAT (in 10 days), and I would really appreciate it for the upcoming test and future tests!

Number 1 is my score. I have studied past SAT exams that I could find on the internet, along with the DSAT Official Bluebook Tests. From what I could find and hear, the more recent tests spiked up in difficulty (I probably would need confirmation from a 2026 test takers), so even though I did get pretty high scores on the more earlier practice tests (like Test 4 and 6), I don't think they are very indicative of my scores. I think my estimated score range would be somewhere in the 1450-1550 category, with my dream score being 1530 or higher. I, obviously being very new to the test, would like to know how much to at least get a 730 in r&w (since I am more sure about getting around an 800 in math later). I currently try to solve reading with more logic and writing, writing with more intuition than logic, and vocab with more intuition as well, for I think that studying only vocab (or the majority of my time) wouldn't really help me in tests.

I think when I do badly, I get around 2-3 writing, 2-3 vocab, and 5-6 reading wrong. Obviously, even with ambiguous scoring systems, I think that writing and vocab would take away more points, but with me getting more reading wrong, I am just confused on what to focus on more. Could anyone advise me?

Secondly, I only signed up for the August SAT Test as of now, but some people are telling me to sign up for the September and October Tests while I study during that timeline. Would it be helpful to take a lot of tests rather than studying up and taking it in 2027 march, june, or august?

Lastly, how should I study for the SAT? It's just so hard for me to comprehend how. The recent tests just jump up in difficulty compared to that of 2-3 years ago. With every test having new skillsets I need to maneuver through, what would be your advice?

Would really appreciate if someone read this long post and answered all of my questions. Thank you so much!
