One person civil design LLC need for General + Errors & Omissions Insurance.

I have a one person civil engineering LLC. I engineer and stamp tiny residential plans (mostly stormwater). I aim to make around $10k/year. I priced out General + E&O insurance at $600/year. Like car insurance, I’m only covered as long as I’m paying into it. My clients and my state don’t require me to have insurance. Hypothetically - ten years from now, my LLC is dissolved, my design fails, a lawsuit arises - I would no longer have insurance unless I pay for insurance for the rest of my life. If I’m sued today, the LLC would protect my personal assets (in most cases) and I would retire to a fruitful career of gardening. So I’m having a hard time understanding the benefit of paying into General + E&O insurance. Please skip the knee jerk BuT u goTta haS insurEnceS. Personal accounts of insurance working for them in a similar situation are very appreciated.
