AI slop

Why are people so quick to label a video as “AI slop” just because it has an AI voice?

From my own experience, I can spend more than 48 hours researching, writing, editing, finding visuals, working on the sound design and putting the whole thing together. It’s not like I press a button and some software generates the entire video in 30 seconds. The AI is literally just one part of the process, so why does that automatically make everything else “AI slop”?

And do you think using your own voice is always better, even if you have an accent, or is it okay to use AI narration when the rest of the video is genuinely made by you?

Do accents actually make a difference to you when watching documentaries, or is that something creators worry about more than viewers do?
