Sleeping with a very dim night light has improved my sleep

I’ve suffered from trouble sleeping for years. trouble falling asleep, this is since childhood- trouble waking up. The only time I’ve noticed that I fall asleep easily is when I have a votice candle. So last week I got myself a daylight activate, dimmable night lights and have them on the lowest warmest setting. Both me and my fiancé have been sleeping beautifully for the first time in a loooong time. All the research Im finding however says it will decrease our sleep quality but im waking up rested for the first time in years, maybe in my life. Any experte here to shed some light on this? (pun fully intended). Not sure if relevant but both of us are neurospicy.
