How was your treatment plan decided after a stage IV breast cancer diagnosis?
After reading about metastatic breast cancer, one thing really stood out to me: treatment plans can be very different even for patients with the same stage of disease.
It seems that decisions often depend on factors like hormone receptor status, HER2 status, sites of metastasis, previous treatments, and overall health—not just the stage itself.
For those living with stage IV breast cancer, or supporting someone who is:
- Were you offered more than one treatment option?
- Did biomarker or genetic testing change your treatment plan?
- Did you seek a second opinion?
- Looking back, is there anything you wish you'd known earlier?
I'd really appreciate hearing real experiences, since every patient's journey seems to be different.
