I Made the Right Choice!
Today I took a grocery order while I was driving. It looked decent but I couldn’t look too closely at the item list.
3/4 of the way through the shop I came to it on my list: 4 cases of water. 😭 I wouldn’t have accepted if I had seen ONE.
It was about 9 miles, 40ish items and $26. So I knew that this person couldn’t be tipping enough for this- the water purchaser was the further away order and lived in an apartment.
I considered dropping the order but I didn’t want to put all this stuff away. So I just refunded the water. No substitutions. I don’t care about the hit to my stats.
I waited for a slew of messages but they never came! I checked out and delivered.
They left a $2 tip. 35 items (not counting the waters), 9ish miles, in an apartment. (For contrast the other order was like 5 items and 2 miles away and they tipped almost $10)
I SO made the right call! Once I saw how little they tipped I was so happy I didn’t hurt myself lugging all that water to them.
Know your worth and know when to say no.
