Any advice on how to calm anxiety before bed?
20F. Although not properly diagnosed I’ve recently developed really bad health and death anxiety. I can’t go a day without thinking about my health and if there’s something seriously wrong with me.
I’m struggling to fall asleep and I’m writing this as I’m trying because I had a pretty bad anxiety spike and I tried to fall asleep right after and it’s almost like I had this adrenaline dump where I jolt awake with heart palpitations and shortness of breath.
I find it hard to sleep especially when I’m alone (without my boyfriend) because I’m worried if something happens while I’m sleeping no one will be there to help me.
Does anyone have any advice on how to calm myself before bed? My stress levels have caused me to be so fatigued and I just want decent sleep.
This is all so new to me as I’ve never been a properly anxious person before. There was a trigger that just set me off and sent me spiralling ever since. I’ve talked to my parents about it and they said to see how I go the next few weeks trying to distract myself through exercise and other hobbies before I go see someone about this.
