Hey .Some of you may remember me as the person who was looking for help getting the stray cats at my workplace sterilized. I genuinely thought I was doing the right thing by trying to reduce the population humanely. But somehow..the situation has completely turned around and I now feel like I’m being made responsible for the entire problem . Maybe i am idk . I do feel stupid for ...caring about cats . There is this big company that i work for and i asked the building servuce coordinator access to the site for a potentiel stérilisation intervention. But now they arr asking about relocating the cats. The thing is.. the building and the site are not mine. The cats were already there long before I got involved. I simply took the initiative to ask for help with stérilisation because I was worried about them.

Now I’m being faced with the possibility of having to organize and potentially pay for their relocation, and honestly.. I don’t understand why that responsibility is falling on me. I’m not financially in a position to take this on and if its an issue for you why don’t you handle the financial aspect of it all by yourself ? They said they can’t help with the sponsorship btw . I feel like the roles have somehow been completely reversed.. how is that my responsibility. To make things even more stressful, I’m leaving my job in September. I’m genuinely afraid of what might happen to the cats once I’m gone one of my biggest fears is that someone could take matters into their own hands in a horrible way such as poisoning them. I really hope that would never happen . I’ve been told that relocating an entire colony is extremely complicated. I understand that but surely situations like this have been dealt with before.

So I’m really asking for advice: Who should I contact? Im scared to post this on fb . Is there an organization ,group, or person in Mauritius who has experience safely relocating or managing a colony of stray cats?

I feel completely overwhelmed and honestly quite alone in dealing with this. Any advice or leads would mean a lot.

Cats..
