I like listening to old people tell stories

I could quite happily sit for hours while senior people talk about the past, and just about anything. There's something about learning about how things were before my time but through another person's own verbal recollection. Sure, I could read a history book, watch a doc, or listen about the past, but something about an individual's verbal telling makes it far more engaging.

It's a cliché (or maybe a myth?) that most people don't like listening to old people talk about the past since it's monotonous but I've never felt that way.
