Tingling/burning sensation on both sides of tongue after lower first molar extraction — normal?

I had my lower first molar (#19/#30) extracted about 30 hours ago.

I can feel my tongue normally and I can taste normally. However, I have a mild tingling/burning (“pins and needles” / slightly scalded feeling) sensation along both sides of the front part of my tongue.

My dentist told me that the nerve was not touched during the extraction.

Has anyone experienced something similar after a molar extraction? How long did it take for the tingling/burning sensation to go away?
