Is it wise to enter into an LDR without knowing when we would meet.
I find myself coming back to considering ldr due to the challenges of meeting christian men in the country I'm living and already having a small pool due to past poor choices. I was messaged by a nice christian man in another country who is looking for something serious, even after everything he would still like to date me.
Now, neither one of us are financially well off, I earn enough to take care of myself and help out others from time to time so would need quite a while to save up to meet him. To be honest I'm not all that ambitious in terms of my professional career , my motivation is just stability and skills/abilities I can use to serve if God willing I ever become a wife and mother. He is doing a master's degree and considering PhD too after , works part time at his university.
He believes everything will somehow work itself out and sees no problem with potentially waiting a few years before meeting for the first time. I've done ldr before but I'm not sure how wise it is to enter into it knowing our first meeting would be in a minimum 1.5 years if we're lucky and who knows if the attraction or chemistry can translate to real life or we realize we aren't really who we claimed to be over the phone. On paper we seem very compatible but I don't think the relationship would feel real after so long , it would just be me and my phone.
He and a friend of mine said why not try and see how it goes but idk, what if I agree then 6 months into it I realize I can't do it.
