Is HRT supposed to make me feel something…?
I posted about this yesterday, and I feel bad asking again since I feel like I’m overstepping, but it’s been scaring me…
I started yesterday. After years of pain, depression and dysphoria, I finally was able to start on estrogen and T-blockers, and I don’t feel anything. I know changes aren’t supposed to start until some time has passed, that’s not what I’m trying to say. I mean, I don’t feel relieved, excited, happy? Nothing!
I just feel…numb? I know I’m scared to start because of my family, and I’m afraid to face them about this, but still…why aren’t I excited? I WANT to be trans, and to be a woman, and I get angry when people tell me I’m not, or imply that it might not be the case.
My friend says something about “This can be a moment of understanding how the desires of our hearts are deceitful and often never grant us peace we want when giving it what it wants.” I dunno…I want this so badly to be the correct way for me, but I don’t feel anything like I thought I would.
Is this normal? Please help…
