Can anyone help with mods?

Ive been trying to mod my game, but always run into problems eventually. Does anyone have any recommendations on mod load outs? I love the Butchering mod, and mods that add more plants, berries, herbs, foods and meals, etc. Also, is there a way to figure out what isnt working without loading in, playing, and eventually running into a problem, ruining the hours of gameplay? I played modded months ago, and it was gorgeous and wonderfully, now I cannot seem to get the mods to work together, or run smoothly. Anything is appreciated. I'm not new to modding games, but this is a new problem for me with Vintage Story.
