Okay so, i know how this sounds. But I need yall to hear me out on this. 

This is my rat Jeff, and before I start, lets just make one thing clear. I love my little guy, and I wouldn't trade him for anything. 

Now that we have that out of the way, let's talk about it. 

Jeff has always been kinda odd compared to other rats I had or seen. Here's some odd things i noticed  about him: 

\- He has never been scared or showed fear, not even on his first day at home. He would climb the cage door and confidently walk around the house without reacting to sudden movements or sounds that were happening around him. 

\- He has, since day one. Barely used his hands to eat. He doesn't hold food like every other rat i seen or had, instead he just grabs it with his mouth, moves it where he wants it, puts it down and eat it with his mouth straight of the floor. Causing him to get food pretty much all over his face 

\- He has always been very picky, but not with their main mix/food. Besides their main food, he only eats liquid food things. Like Yougurt and occasionally soft and wet dandelion leafs. He doesn't even liver paste, which the other rats go FERAL for

\- He never stands still, like literally NEVER. Even if he's standing in one spot, he makes glitchy and quick sudden movements, so he's never truly still. He's always kinda twitching if he's "still" 

\- He has always been smaller than the other boys in his litter, he's more the size of the girls in the litter then the rest of the boys. 

\- He plays a lot with his mouth. He doesn't actually bite, but he grabs you with his teeth a lot. 

\- He doesn't really pick up other rats signals very well. If someone squeaks because he's taking something from them, he just doesn't care 🤦🏻 Meanwhile my other rats knows that squeaks means no/stop, and will know when enough is enough. 

\- He's really messy overall, and doesn't really use the litter box like the other rats I have and had. He will do his business where it suits him (but never outside the cage for some reason) 

I know all these things can just be personality traits, and I don't mind either of them. He's perfect like he is. 

I'm just curious to know if there might be a reason that he's so different, and if anyone else has a rat with similar traits

Can rats be born with neurological disorders similar to humans?
