Yamaha LS26 vs. Furch Yellow OM

Gear question

Hi all,

First of all and to get it out of the way: yes, I plan on trying both and I know that nothing compares to trying the guitars in person and seeing what works for you!

Context: I've been playing guitar for 20 years, mainly electric but also acoustic. I was playing wo beginner dreadnought guitars and while I enjoyed them, I could never fully get into them. Last year, I had the revelation that dreadnoughts are not the shape for me: I mainly play fingerstyle and light strumming and find the big body of the dreadnought to be cumbersome. So I sold them and got a Godin Fairmount Concert Hall Limited (spruce top, rosewood back and sides) and the body shape instantly agreed with me and I love it!

Eventually, I plan on adding a second acoustic for different tuning options. The two that I am have zoned in on are the Yamaha LS26 and the Furch Yellow Series in OM shape. It seems that the former has been discontinued, so the opportunity to buy new appears limited.

From a Yamaha perspective, I'm drawn to the Made in Japan crafsmanship and Yamaha's reputation, the spruce top/rosewood back and sides combo for fingerpicking and it looks like a beautiful guitar.

From a Furch perspective, I am very interested in the new CNR active system, which allows for adjustments to the guitar, as well as the different options (e.g. spruce vs. cedar tops, rosewood vs. mahogany back and sides, cutaway vs. no cutaway, etc). From reading reviews, the craftsmanship on Furch guitars also seems excellent.

I wanted to post here to see if any of you have experience or insight with either models, as I enjoy hearing what others have to say.

Thanks for your time
