Crazy Shough Thoughts?
So, I mostly do Yahoo's public prize leagues. 10 team, .5 PPR. And in every one of those leagues, Tyler Shough is going absolutely undrafted. While I do advocate for a few guys who are more than worth it at ADP, I feel like there are plenty of guys making rosters who have no business in front of him. It might not be absolutely insane to start weighing skill more heavily against some of the names I've been going with and taking Shough as close to my last pick as possible.
Hell, since I do a lot of early drafts, I almost feel like not drafting a QB at all and letting a few camp battles resolve before cutting someone for him.
He was top-12 in his starts last season- with a few absolute clunkers out the gate that are easily improved on and smoothed out.
He was pretty much Joe Flacco with wheels last season. They've got the line and receiving weapons. Signing Etienne doesn't strike me as commitment to the running game, and he himself is has been a fair receiving back for a few years now.
QB progress is absolutely not linear. But his rookie season was pretty much him playing the way everyone who had a slightly optimistic view of him said he was gonna, and it interpreted to a fair fantasy output. He's got a last-place schedule, plays in a division that's got some defenses that can be had, and has another year of development and significant investment in the cast around him under his belt. Why are we not thinking top-10?
