I'm an elder Millennial and have zero ambition. I have "beat" the game. Big House, Nice car, beautiful wife... and... well... thats it. Woohoo.
I dont really know why it feels so empty. I certainly appreciate what I have. But I feel like I'm missing something. I see these CEOs of companies that work until they are 80, quit, and die. I don't have depression, either. I have a robust friend group, a packed social life, and things are good.
But, I guess I just feel like I beat the game, and the endgame sort of sucks.
I could work extra hard and the only thing that would change is the manufacturers app on my phone that unlocks the doors on my car. I could be a few minutes closer to concerts if I moved, I guess...
But I have a ton of life left, I'm in perfect health, the house is spotless (by this I mean I have the motivation to keep my living space clean and enjoyable), my relationship with my wife is great... I can even fly to Paris if I want tomorrow...
but it just feels empty. I have (with some luck and a lot of coin tosses going my way) probably 30-40 good years left, and I have zero ambition. Im on a treadmill.
Anybody ever "beat the game" and felt the same way?
