Transfer advice?

I’m transferring to another Starbucks because I’m moving for college, and I’m honestly just confused about where my transfer stands right now.

I started the transfer process a few months ago and gave my current CL plenty of notice. My current DM already reviewed and approved my transfer request and sent it over to the receiving district. I spoke with my DM, and he said he’s basically just waiting for the transfer paperwork to be sent back to him from the receiving side.

The store I’m transferring to already knows about me and wants me there. I’ve also been in contact with the receiving CL. My current CL went on an LOA a few days ago.

I put August 20 as my transfer date on the form. I also requested time off from July 17–25, so I understood why I wasn’t on the schedule during that time. But, the new schedule that came out two days ago doesn’t have me on it either, so I reached out to the receiving CL to ask when I could expect to start.

She told me she was going to connect with her DM and “validate I’m good to go.”

I don’t have any write-ups/corrective actions, and I’ve been with Starbucks for about a year. I’m honestly not sure what to do because I rely on Starbucks for my benefits. I also wasn’t scheduled after my time off ended on the 25th, and I’m still in my old store’s system.

I’ve heard that if you’re off for more than two weeks, you can be required to go on an LOA. Is that true? Since I didn’t request the entire time off and was simply not scheduled after my requested time off ended, would that still apply to me?

I’m just confused about what my receiving CL means by “validate I’m good to go” and where I actually am in the transfer process. I guess I just thought the transfer would have been initiated/further along once I submitted everything and put my transfer date on the form.

I gave months of notice, stayed on top of everything, and have been communicating with my SM and DM throughout the process, so I don’t really understand why I’m still waiting to figure out when I can actually start at the new store.

Does anyone have any advice? Could I potentially be a borrowed partner at the receiving store while the transfer is being finalized? I’m not sure what to do at this point.
