Is my betta dying?

My betta is approximately older than 1 year old. He used to be a very active fish, but for the last couple of days I’ve noticed he is staying at the bottom of the tank more. Just lying there. He stills swims at the top numerous times during the day, but I notice a different activity levels. Is this normal with age?
