Day 17! New Personal Record

Journal Check-In

So happy to report that today I finally beat my personal record. It used to be 15 days which I attained 18 years ago. Then over the last 18 years it’s been always 3, 5, 8 days max. Then I would always relapse.

Then this year in February I was able to break it at 16 days. Then I relapsed again. But this year has been different. I’ve been working on myself in so many aspects. Mostly the gym. Working out has helped me release my negative emotions, frustrations and anxieties. And on top of that I’ve lost lots of weight which has boosted my confidence. All those negative emotions were my main triggers and needed to be released somehow. Unfortunately, for years my release mechanism was porn. But this year I noticed that the more i went to the gym I was starting to lose interest in porn. And well, i finally made it to 17 days and will keep going.

Another thing that is helping me in terms of habits is journaling. I write every single day my thoughts and emotions. Whether I’m feeling good or bad I write it down. And to compliment that, I record myself talking for about 10 min daily (usually during my lunch). Again, here I just share my thoughts, emotions and I’m as blunt as possible. I always keep it real. No sugar coating. Then I play that back over and over on my way home. That for me has been definitely a game changer.

Anyway I’m nowhere close to the success that some people here have experienced, but for me this is definitely a win. And small wins eventually add up.

Next goal is 30 days!
