PSA: Larva Migrans and those cute racoons
This sub seems to have people who love racoons. They are adorable no doubt... but they carry roundworms (that sound harmless) that have microscopic eggs. The eggs, if injested hatch
in the intestine and THE LARVA BORROW THOROUGH THE INTESTINE WALLS.
injestion is easy enough if you walk in areas with racoon latrines and track the eggs in.
Have crawling babies? dont wash your hands before eating that cracker and the eggs are onyour hands? You can easily end up getting it
Just be careful people! They are cute but you don't need to acquire a hard to diagnose impossible to treat disease.
Oh and they cant be killed by bleach or cleaning agents just fire.
