Soul crossing Trial/EX 3 and 4

With the second half of the event dropping, and the eventual onslaught of posts saying their having trouble with the trials and ex, here some advice for clearing them.

Trial/Ex 3

The biggest hurdle will be team composition. Your best bet will be 4 attacker/vandle type buddies and only 1 healer. Do not use any buddies that are support (ie only provide attack buffs) or whose ex is not an attack type. Additionally, buddies that deal damage via a passive will be useless here (ie don’t bring suichong or taeho). Lastly, do not use yuhyun or yuhee, their aoe attacks will quickly lead to a TKO.

Now to clear the stage, the light and water enemy need to be attacked 9 times each. Whenever one of them is attacked the other gains a stack of damp/warmth once they both hit 9 they will be defeated. The fire enemy needs to have an ex attack used on him 10 times. Each ex attack gives him 1 stack of frenzy up to 10 stacks, at 10 stacks he’s defeated. For the Dark enemy, each time he attacks, he applies “Called out” to two random buddies on your team. Whenever a buddy with “Called Out” defends, the dark enemy gains a stack of response. Once he has 10 stacks of response he is defeated. The wood enemy is the easiest, he starts with 2 stacks of “dream” and gains 1 stack every turn. When attacked, he loses a stack of “dream” causing a TKO if he has zero stacks. Simply don’t attack him and you’ll be golden.

TLDR: don’t use aoe damage, buddies that deal damage only through a passive, or buddies that have a non-attack type ex. Attack the light and water unit 9 times each, use ex attacks on the fire unit 10 times, defend with “called out” buddies 10 times, and never attack the wood enemy.

Trial/EX 4

Compared to 3 this one is straight forward. Xuying is the only enemy you should attack. Once he’s below 1% he’s defeated. If you attack anuberus or mengkui, the xuying will either heal (in the case of anuberus) or use an ex attack (in the case of mengkui being attacked).

On his first turn, either attack with all units or deal as much damage as you can to xuying. If successful, he will fail to attack that turn. On turn 3 defend with all units to prevent his attack. Both his ex and trial forms are pretty easy, just avoid using any aoe attacks and load your team up with heavy hitters (healers will not likely be needed as along as your team is leveled up enough)

TLDR: only attack Yuxing, defend with all on turn 3, either have team built for extremely high single target damage or durability. Pay attention to prompts from anuberus and mengkui and the fight will be over in no time.
