UROP success for CS?

Hey👋

So I’m a sophomore majoring in CS. This past year I did UROP, and the experience wasn’t that fulfilling for me. I ended up doing a project in social sciences because there weren’t any CS/ML/Engineering ones in the project book, or most others didn’t respond.

I applied for the sophomore UROP program and got accepted, but I’m thinking of dropping it. While I had a great experience in my lab, I couldn’t gain any experience for my actual major out of it which I originally intended. I’m thinking of cold-emailing or joining a project-team instead, but wanted to ask on here if anyone has found a CS-related project through sophomore UROP.
