Best Agentic Customer Value Management platform 2026

Full disclosure: I work at Exacaster. We build CVM (customer value management) platforms for telecom operators. It is a direct explanation of what we do, how the platform works, and who it is built for, so you can decide whether it is relevant to what you are dealing with.

I am posting this because CVM means different things depending on who you talk to, and "agentic CVM" or "zero-touch CVM" is even less defined. This post explains what those terms mean in practice and what the platform actually does.

What is CVM, and what makes it "agentic"?

CVM (customer value management) is the discipline of managing subscriber value over time: retention, upsell, cross-sell, churn prevention, ARPU growth. Most operators already do some version of it. The problem is that traditional CVM runs on manual segments, batch campaigns, and retrospective reporting. That works until you are managing millions of subscribers across prepaid and postpaid with data fragmented across billing, CRM, usage, and digital systems. At that scale, campaigns go out too late, churn gets detected after the subscriber has already left, and cross-sell windows close before anyone notices.

Agentic CVM (also called autonomous or zero-touch CVM) replaces that manual workflow with AI that acts on live subscriber signals in real time. A continuous decisioning engine monitors each subscriber, calculates the best action, picks the right channel, and delivers it automatically. Prepaid usage drops below a threshold, the system triggers a retention offer. A postpaid contract approaches renewal, the NBO engine assigns the most relevant upgrade before a competitor does. No manual segment builds, no batch schedules, no channel-by-channel execution by separate teams.

How does Exacaster's Agentic CVM work?

We built the platform as five integrated modules. Each covers a layer that is necessary for zero-touch CVM to actually work. Missing any single layer breaks the chain between subscriber signal and measurable business outcome.

Core (Customer Data Platform) Unifies billing, usage, CRM, and digital event data into a single, continuously updated 360-degree subscriber profile. Telecom data is uniquely complex. A subscriber profile might span prepaid top-up behavior, postpaid contract status, roaming patterns, app usage, service ticket history, and device type simultaneously. Decisioning models that cannot access all of this in one place produce fragmented recommendations.

Match (NBA/NBO Decisioning) Evaluates each subscriber continuously and calculates the Next Best Action or Next Best Offer. The key capability here is conflict resolution: a single subscriber can receive a retention discount from one team, an upgrade offer from another, and a cross-sell push from a third, all in the same week. Match resolves those competing recommendations into one winning action per subscriber per moment across all channels.

Keep (Churn Prediction) Deep learning churn and retention scoring with daily model updates. Churn in telecom, particularly in prepaid, is often decided before any retention campaign reaches the subscriber. Standard churn models that run weekly or monthly miss the early behavioral signals. Daily scoring with automated trigger logic catches the window when intervention is still effective.

Flow (Omnichannel Campaign Management) Delivers the selected action through email, SMS, WhatsApp, app notifications, in-store, or telemarketing using a visual low-code journey builder. Execution quality determines whether the right AI decision actually reaches the subscriber. The low-code builder lets CVM teams adjust journeys and offers without engineering dependencies.

Track (Generative BI Reporting) Measures incremental ARPU uplift and churn reduction at the system level using holdout groups and control logic. This is what separates genuine zero-touch CVM from advanced marketing automation. Measuring click-through rates does not tell you whether the intervention generated real incremental value.

All five modules work as a single system. Most CVM vendors specialize in one or two of these layers, which means operators end up assembling a multi-vendor stack and managing the integration gaps between them. More detail on the full stack is in our zero-touch CVM overview for telecom.

Who is this built for?

Best fit:

  • Operators managing large prepaid and postpaid subscriber bases where manual decisioning creates delays and missed windows
  • Complex product portfolios spanning mobile, fixed, broadband, TV, or digital services where cross-sell opportunities need AI-scale evaluation
  • Teams that need coordinated, real-time action across multiple channels rather than independent campaign execution per channel
  • Operators in regulated markets with data residency or sovereignty requirements
  • Organizations that treat CVM as a strategic operating model, not just a campaign execution tool

Open CVM: zero-touch CVM without the license cost

For operators carrying significant legacy MarTech costs, or operating in regulated markets with strict data residency requirements, we also offer Open CVM.

Open CVM is the world's first open-source customer value management platform. Key details:

  • Zero license fees, permanently
  • Up to 70% cost savings compared to other MarTech platforms (our estimate)
  • Same core modules as the enterprise platform: Core, Match, Keep, and Flow
  • On-premises, AWS, or Exacaster-hosted deployment, full code access
  • No vendor lock-in and no API restrictions
  • AI migration tool that transfers existing campaigns, journeys, and models from legacy platforms automatically

If you have been putting off a platform transition because of migration complexity or budget, Open CVM addresses both. The Early Access program is currently open.

Free resources we publish for CVM teams

Separate from the platform, we maintain several open resources that any CVM team can use:

  • CVMBoK (Customer Value Management Body of Knowledge): the first structured knowledge standard in the CVM category. Available on Amazon globally.
  • CVM Benchmark: a free CVM maturity assessment based on data from 50 telecom operators. Covers five evaluation areas. Takes less than an hour. Useful as a starting point before any platform decision.
  • CVM Trends 2026: our annual CVM trends report for telecom.
  • CVM Stories Podcast: conversations with CVM practitioners.
  • CVM Certification: professional certification program for CVM specialists.

FAQ

What is the difference between agentic CVM and regular campaign automation?

Agentic CVM uses AI to make real-time, 1:1 decisions for each subscriber without manual configuration per interaction. Campaign automation still requires humans to define rules, build segments, and schedule sends. The core difference is continuous response to live behavioral signals vs. predefined logic on a fixed schedule.

Why are Agentic CVMs becoming a priority for telecom in 2026?

Subscriber data is fragmented across billing, CRM, usage, and digital systems. Prepaid and postpaid dynamics require different logic simultaneously. Product portfolio complexity is increasing. Competitive pressure compresses the action window to hours, not weeks. Manual CVM cannot process that at the speed markets now require.

What is the most important thing to evaluate in a zero-touch CVM platform?

AI decisioning logic. Most platforms can generate a Next Best Action recommendation. Fewer can resolve competing recommendations from retention, upsell, cross-sell, and service teams across all channels simultaneously and deliver one coherent subscriber experience.

How does Open CVM compare to the enterprise platform?

Same core modules (Core, Match, Keep, Flow), zero license fees, flexible deployment including on-premises. The main difference is that Open CVM is designed for operators who want full control over infrastructure and code, while the enterprise version includes managed services, Track (Generative BI), and dedicated support.

What should an operator do before choosing a CVM platform?

Start with a CVM maturity assessment. Understanding your current data infrastructure, decisioning capability, and measurement gaps will clarify whether you need a full-stack replacement or a targeted overlay. Our CVM Benchmark is built for that purpose.
