X-Men 97 Season 2, a let down
My disappointment stems from the fact that the first 4 episodes were brilliant with a lot on the line and emotionally invested me in Nathan's journey to defeat Apocalypse.
Knowing comics and marvel games it was evident Gambit would return as the Horseman of death. But for further stakes on the line I was expecting Psylocke to be also turned to the other side and probably Wolverine as well. Seeing as how the main 4 Horsemen were just reduced to random nobodies my expectations were for so many to be turned to the dark side and the X-Men would face the worst battle ever in order to defeat Apocalypse and restore their friends to normal.
But filler episodes like Adamantium restoration episode and the Colossus episode made it feel like the show dragged, and the story felt misplaced or ill paced. The Danger.exe episode was OK, I guess but not much to it.
Episodes 8 and 9 just felt like a huge waste of time, with probably the dumbest plot twist ever (i.e. Apocalypse pseudo-death) and Rogue making the deal that straight up just defeats Apocalypse and then giving the gem to Cable.
It is sad because I felt there were genuine moments of brilliance in the show, i.e. The intro change in episode 2 making us believe that at least 1 or 2 times X-Force would battle Apocalypse in the present day, Kurt's representation for Sabertooth's son (I forget his name), the emotional discourse between morph and wolverine, Kurt's final sacrifice to name a few but these moments are so far apart and so few it makes the show feel ... Off.
TL;DR pacing was off, very few good moments, dumb plot twist made me dislike the season quite a bit.
