Basement Toilet

Hi all. We bought a home with a finished basement so my parents could move in with us. There was already a finished bathroom with a toilet, shower, and sink below the sewer line. We had to replace the old pump on the toilet within a year of moving in, but my parents are saying the new one still doesn't work well; they have to flush twice, and sometimes there is a smell. The new one is a Saniflo Saniaccess 3. With your experience, can you tell me if there are better/stronger options for a basement toilet that can handle daily use? Thanks in advance
