Car for scrap?

It's been my family's car since it was bought in 2007 (Subaru Forester). Didn't pass inspection. Brakes leak, gas tank leaks. Decent tires, still some life. The amount of labor to replace the gas tank is huge, which is why we aren't fixing it.

Do we send it to salvage? Donate it? Put it up on some site (which one?) for scrap and parts? Do we try to sell it for parts and scrap the rest?
