has AI improved?

i've seen recent posts saying AI is still pushing in a straight line and not flanking etc, but posts from approximately 8 months ago are also saying AI has improved and are actually using smokes and flanking.

which is it? or is the AI only improved on newer maps like finest hour and liberation?
