Does anyone else struggle with feeling like No one understands you?

Question

I'm high masking AuDHD. Low support needs. So much that I flew under the radar until my 30s.

I have a job. I have friends. I have a wife. I have kids. I have hobbies. I'm considered attractive, charming, funny, interesting and reliable. I do well socially. Follow the scripts. People trust my opinions. People seem to like me.

But I feel deeply, profoundly alone so much of the time. I feel like I'm living in the ocean and most people paddle around in the shallows. There's an ache in me that no one seems to get. I've struggled with this feeling since childhood. It's not quite depression. It goes deeper.

It's a feeling of being wholly different. Of living in a world as a stranger. Thinking I was broken for so many years. And I'm still not sure if that initial assessment was wrong.

I feel like I'm performing everywhere, with everyone. I don't even know who the real me is anymore. But, I know he's tired.

I guess, I'm just looking for validation that I'm not alone in this feeling. That someone out there understands this feeling. This isolating loneliness.
