I hate the latest episode on the componded med study
I love the podcast. I'm so grateful for all the information, and appreciate a lot Dr Cooper's emphatetic approach too.
The only thing that I don't understand why they are emphasizing so much that compounded semaglutide/tirzepatide is bad. And I know the latest episode was not really about it, but it came up again.
I feel like there is such a misconnect from the showrunners around compounded usage. I use the brand name, because I can afford it, but many people simply can't, and saying it's bad doesn't help them.
So while talking about compounded meds, I would love them to be more realistic, and not so upper-mid-class. They could approach this from angles like:
1., If you can't afford/get covered brand name by insurance, should you not use anything, or use compounded?
2., What do you need to watch when you are purchasing a compunded version?
3., What else can you do to save costs - like how safe dose splitting is?
I know these would not get a loving glance from Eli Lily, but I'm sure it can be phrased in a way it's not harmful for the team.
