31 [M4F] #NYC - Video Games, Museums, LEGO, Books, and Good Conversation
Just as a note: please read my post before messaging. Thanks!
Hello! Summer's still here (for now), and I'd love to meet some new people around NYC to chat with regularly and hopefully become friends with. I'm looking for people who'd be interested in talking online first and, if we click, eventually hanging out in person.
I'm 31 and live on Manhattan's Upper West Side. Lately I've been trying to get out of the apartment more by walking around the neighborhood, Central Park, Riverside Park, and other parts of the city. It would be great to have someone to chat with during those walks or to explore museums, bookstores, restaurants, or other interesting places around NYC.
I'm a bit of a homebody, and my interests lean pretty nerdy. I enjoy video games (especially platformers, action games, RPGs, horror, and the occasional MMO), anime, movies, music, LEGO, reading, and art. I'm also a collector and always seem to have another game or LEGO set on my wishlist.
I've recently gotten back into reading and have been building up a small library of classics, science fiction, nonfiction, and other books that catch my interest. I also grew up on '90s and 2000s cartoons, still watch Toonami, and would love to get back into drawing landscapes someday.
One thing I'm also working on is getting healthier. I've been walking a lot more recently, so if you're on a similar fitness or weight-loss journey, that would definitely be something we could encourage each other with.
I'd love to hear about your interests too. Whether you're into gaming, board games, anime, movies, museums, science, books, music, cosplay, art, or just enjoy wandering around the city with good conversation, I'm always interested in meeting people with different hobbies and perspectives. The American Museum of Natural History and The Met are two of my favorite places in the city, but I'm always looking for new places to check out.
Ideally:
You're somewhere in Manhattan or nearby (Upper West Side is a bonus, but definitely not required). You're around 30 or older. You enjoy at least a few "nerdy" hobbies like games, movies, books, anime, board games, or similar interests. You like both staying in and occasionally getting out to explore the city. You're looking to make genuine local friendships.
My main goal is meeting people in NYC to eventually hang out with in person. If you're interested, tell me a little about yourself instead of just saying "hi"—what you're into, your favorite places in the city, or what you'd be interested in doing together. Looking forward to meeting some new people!
