Seeing a lot of comments about the set design for "Abay ang Tropa sa Kasal ng mga Tikbalang" staged in Benilde pero ang sad lang tignan kapag alam mo yung katotohanan sa Set "Design" na yan. Not to shame the OP of the TikTok they obviously didn’t know. Pero ito na po ang chismis 🍵🍵🍵

The student production designer, the one who "designed" the set, used an Al generated image. I’ll shortcut her name to “J.Co”.

She has a history of relying on Al for many things. Surprising lang how much the profs allow that in an art school like Benilde. She's apparently infamous in the Production Design course because of a previous production where she was the assigned PD for the batch but used an AI set for a dance production. My friends in her course told me about the bad experience with her last term because she barely acted like the PD, seems like nothing has changed this term as well.

Not to disregard the effort and hard work of the Theater arts students. J.Co was just the “designer” and did not participate in creating the actual set pieces. Sayang kasi makikita mo talaga yung passion ng ibang students para sa Thesis nila, di ko lang talaga makafocus sa show kasi iniisip ko na AI yung set.

Imagine using AI in theater? Especially when her whole course is about production design pa. “To mount a show that AI can never replace” but it involved Ai 😬😬😬 How did they even allow that?

“No AI” but it’s an AI Set Design
