I am terrified after going through reddit
I (M27) have had a deviated septum since I can remember, I am allergic to pollen (ragweed) at peak season I can't breath from my nose anymore or I'll be taking a break from eating every minute because my nose is running like stupid, drip drip drip.
I finally booked the surgery on 30.09.2026, the surgeon said that my deviated septum is average and not that bad, he's going to have to remove a section of my cartidge and do the turbinate reduction (won't surgerically cut).
While I was there I was very nervous and I didn't ask everything I would like to ask or maybe I didn't educate myself enough before going, now I have been reading through reddit and I am terrified, having holes in my cartidge or non stop bleeding for months, idk how I would feel about that especially since I am living abroad (only living with my fiancée).
The surgeon was referred by my fiancée's family friend as he went through the same surgery with the same surgeon and his experience was positive.
The surgeon seemed experienced (end of 30s), I even asked him if we'll talk again before the surgery and he said maybe not, still I was too nervous to the point that questions just disappeared.
And now I can't stop reading through and at some point I feel like my stomach is upside down.
I'm considering to call it off but I want your opinion first, don't get me wrong I know I can talk to my fiancée but you went through it, you were in my place, and you understand and felt the whole thing.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated especially if your experience wasn't positive.
