You ever realize how pro AI your hobby has become?

Well, I did.

I complained about seeing more and more AI generated content in a hobby that is supposed to be about creativity and writing, and somehow I ended up getting downvoted for it.

People told me I was accusing others unfairly and that calling out AI use was worse than simply ignoring it. My post even got removed for supposedly trying to start a witch hunt.

I was only trying to find a novel to read, and one recommendation had tons of praise and engagement. But the writing had every AI pattern I keep seeing lately. The constant "not A, not B, just C" structure, forced edgy one liners, flat one sentence dialogue, and characters that felt more like vague descriptions than actual people.

Maybe a real person wrote it. If so, fair enough. But even then, the writing was still pretty bad.

What surprised me more was seeing everyone praise it as amazing writing while any criticism of the AI style was treated like a personal attack.
