A smile makeover is rarely just about changing the color or shape of someone's teeth.

One of the most important parts of treatment planning is figuring out what actually needs to change and, just as importantly, what doesn't.

Depending on the patient, that can mean looking at tooth proportions, alignment, bite, gum line, facial features, existing dental work, and the amount of healthy tooth structure that can be preserved.

For this transformation, we used digital planning to look at the smile as a whole rather than treating each tooth individually.

The goal wasn't to create the whitest, straightest, or most "perfect" smile possible. It was to create something that looked natural, balanced, and appropriate for this particular patient.

That's also why two people asking for a "smile makeover" can end up with completely different treatment plans. One person may benefit from whitening and minor cosmetic work, while another may need veneers, crowns, implants, gum contouring, orthodontics, or a combination of treatments.

A good smile makeover starts with the diagnosis and treatment plan, not with choosing the procedure.

If you're considering one, we're happy to answer questions about how the planning process works or what options are typically considered for different situations.
