Incoming Erasmus student, North Campus — where should I look for housing?
Hey! I'll be an Erasmus student at Boğaziçi this fall, based at North Campus (Hisarüstü). Open to sharing a flat with other students, but I need my own room. Would love input from people who actually know the area:
- Which neighborhoods near North Campus are realistic on a student budget — Bebek, Etiler, Rumelihisarı, Sarıyer? Or is it worth living further away and commuting (e.g. Kadıköy, Beşiktaş)?
- How's the shuttle/commute situation between campuses and to North Campus specifically?
- Any tips on finding a room in a shared flat with other students, rather than a whole apartment on my own? Or should I look for a studio/appartment?
- Things to watch out for as a foreigner when signing a lease here?
Also — if anyone knows a current or outgoing Boğaziçi student (or another Erasmus student) looking for a flatmate or subletting a room for the semester, I'd really appreciate an intro! Happy to share more details in DMs.
Thanks so much, excited to be joining you all soon 🙂
