PSSD symptoms without Finasteride or SSRI exposure?
I am a PFM patient (FTM age 33) however I have not spoken with Dr. Powers about the full extent of my symptoms, thinking they were majorly physiological and that I would need to find a therapist. However the more I read about PSSD and PFD my symptoms seem to match this pattern, but I have never taken Finasteride nor have I taken SSRIs.
I’ve experienced fatigue, brain-fog, memory issues, low to no libido, numbed emotions, and pleasureless orgasms, and I’ve experienced these symptoms for at least 10 years. I’d accredited it all to a history of sexual abuse, labeled myself as asexual and just continued on with my life avoiding forming intimate relationships with anyone. However now that I am in a committed relationship I am finding my condition more a hinderance, and it had begun to affect other aspects of my life as well such as motivation at work.
I temporarily found relief when i started HRT, when I switched from injections to T pellets, and again when I was prescribed Methylated Vitamin D, but my symptoms re-emerged after a 6-8 months each time. I thought at first a prescribed for bupropion to help my dopamine reuptake would be a good solution, but the more I read here about PSSD and PFD I wonder if my experience matches the pattern as well.
While I’ve never taken Finasteride or SSRI, I have taken Depo Provera about 12 years ago before my symptoms began. Could that be a trigger for it?
