Custom buffet with hutch

Hello all! I have been on the hunt for a piece that would fit in my kitchen to serve as pantry storage and a coffee bar but can’t find anything the right dimensions that I like, so we are going to build it.

The basic idea is a long cabinet ~70” with 2 top drawers and 2 cabinets (4 doors total). I am considering the basic construction and trying to decide between 2 separate boxes that get attached or one long box with a divider. I plan to add face framing and overlaid doors/drawer fronts as well as cut out toe kicks (opposed to a separate base for toe kicks).

Any thoughts or things we need to consider for the construction and why to do it one way over the other?
