ASO tool with ads instead of subscription, would you use it?

(Full disclosure: brainstormed and edited this post with Claude, but the idea and questions are mine)

I’m about to build an ASO (Astro-like) tool and I’m deciding between the usual subscription model and something different: no mandatory subscription at all – instead, you watch 1-3 rewarded ads per 24 hours and get full functionality unlocked for that day.

Before I commit to this, I want honest feedback from people who’d actually be the target users (indie devs, marketers, ASO folks):

**1.	Would this format make you more or less likely to try the app** compared to a $X/month subscription?
**2.	Where’s the line for you** — is 1 ad/day fine but 3 feels like too much? Does it matter if it’s a 5-second skippable ad vs. a 30-second rewarded video?
**3.	Would you still want a paid option** to remove ads entirely, or does that defeat the point of “no mandatory subscription”?
**4.	Does this feel more “fair” than a subscription**, or does it feel worse because you’re trading time/attention instead of a predictable price?
**5.**	If you’ve used apps like this before (games aside) — what made it feel okay vs. annoying?

Thanks!
