Oktoberfest in Freiburg- is it a thing?

My partner and I are looking to stay in Freiburg and doing Oktoberfest there. Thoughts? We’re staying with friends in Basel and wanted to do one day experiencing Oktoberfest since we’ve never been. But we’re in our mid/late 30s and don’t want a huge party scene but something more small and authentic which is why our friends recommended Freiburg. But I always check Reddit before I book anything, so any true advice is welcome! Thank you in advance!
