Oticon Hearing Aid App

I've worn Oticon aids for a long time and honestly the sound quality keeps getting better. But the Companion app itself still feels pretty minimal — volume, a handful of presets, that's about it.

What I keep wondering is why there isn't a second tier in the app — something you'd tap into on purpose — with more granular controls for specific situations (restaurant, big conference room, trying to hear someone mumbling three seats away, etc.), and ideally something that learns from your adjustments over time instead of making you redo them every time you're back in that environment.

I'm not saying the simple version should go away — most people probably don't want to fiddle with settings. But for those of us who would use more control if it existed, it feels like there's a gap between how smart the hardware has gotten and how basic the interface still is.

Curious if:

  1. Other longtime Oticon users feel the same way, or if I'm just an outlier who wants too many knobs.
  2. Anyone's tried other brands' apps that already do more of this — more contextual modes, more AI-driven personalization, that kind of thing. Would be useful to know who's ahead on this.
