we spent 6 months building an internal tool just to stop chasing invoices (and accidentally built a micro-saas).
running a custom software agency with my partner, our biggest bottleneck wasn't writing code... it was getting paid.
the gap between a client signing a pdf proposal and actually wiring the deposit was taking weeks. we were acting like debt collectors for our own money.
we realized separating the "yes" from the "payment" was a broken workflow. so we locked ourselves in and built a small infrastructure to merge them. we turned our proposals into live web links. now, the exact millisecond a client hits "approve", it locks the fx rate and instantly opens a stripe connect checkout so they can pay the deposit right there.
it completely fixed our agency's cash flow, so we decided to polish it and spin it out as a standalone micro-saas.
for the builders here: what internal tool did you build out of pure operational frustration that eventually turned into your main project?
