Only three more periods… but who’s counting?

My surgery is in November and they’re taking everything but the ovaries. My doctor said my fibroids are the size of a newborn baby. My periods are a nightmare and I’ve been anemic for over a decade. Every month, my life stops for a week. I can barely function, I’m filling pads every hour, I’m leaking in the car, the headaches, dizziness and fatigue are indescribable.

Next week my partner is traveling for a couple days and I kept hoping it didn’t line up with my period because I didn’t know how I’d be able to take care of our kids by myself if I was dealing with a period.

I’m really nervous about this surgery and I didn’t want the solution to be so drastic. But whenever I start to panic or want to back out, my period hits like a ton of bricks and I remember I cannot keep living like this.
