Sex after c-section

Hello ladies, soon to be a first time mom, I'll be having an elective c-section in december.

Besides c-section recovery of course, another concern I have is about sex and being intimate with my husband after. I know vaginal delivery causes more trauma to our genital area and can take more time to heal and for sex to feel even ok.

But for women who had a c-section, what was your experience and what should I expect? I mean will it actually hurt or just not be enjoyable? When did you start having sex again or when did you actually start to enjoy it?

The concern is coming from me! My husband is the most patient and caring man I know, he would never ever pressure me on anything. But I do enjoy sex (or used to, pregnancy and nausea hit me hard) and I'm terrified it might never be the same after... So any advice is welcome or just share your experience, no need of sugar coating, I'm ready for the real deal.
