So how did you handle telling your Christian-career-centred parents?

As the title says, how did you approach telling your pastor/theologian/deacon/etc. parent(s) about your views? Was it a letter, a sit down convo, etc? What was their response like? How are things between you now? Asking because I know I have to tell my parents eventually, but I'm curious about the dynamics people have encountered.
